bring on other people's awesomenesses!

well hellllllllllo and hiya, everyone! thought i'd say howdy and give you all an update. one is in order, fo 'sho! but first i'm bringing on the eats!

i'm gonna start off with cookies. 'cause you know, almost everyone likes cookies. these beauties are Allyson's chewy chocolate chip cookies. we replace the dates with toasted walnuts (dan's fav)and they're hands down our favorite cookie. added bonus: everyone we feed 'em too hasn't a clue they're gluten-free and loves them just as much. huzzah!

while i'm talking about Allyson i'm gonna show off some of the tester recipes we've been trying out (when we can find the time) for her upcoming cookbook. mac 'n cabbage polenaise. this is only mac 'n cheeze we don't put hot sauce on - it's already that perfect. 'nuff said. :)

now we're moving on to stuffed cabbages. and here i thought my recipe for stuffed cabbages was the bee's knees.... turns out Allyson's is even better and her recipe is incredibly simple and oh-so wonderful in every way!

back in may i reviewed Ricki's ebook Good Morning! Breakfasts Without Gluten, Sugar, Eggs or Dairy over on xgfx. here's just one of the many goodies we cooked up from her glorious ebook - her Frittata with Zucchini and Chard. we took Ricki's suggestion to play around with the veggies, as dan isn't the biggest fan of zucchini or chard, and ended up with a scrumptious mushroom-bell pepper-spinach-asparagus-cherry tomato frittata. wow is all we had to say. just wow! and every recipe we made we said the same thing. you all can check out the rest of the review here on xgfx if you wanna. might i suggest you also get your hands on Ricki's ebook. you won't regret it - it's the best!

now it's update time: dan graduated from fire fighter recruit school back in june and he's now a career fire fighter with Chesterfield County. i am beaming and oh-so proud of him! a while back he decided to follow his heart and leave his job as a network engineer - and i really started listening to mine and tried to figure out what would make it sing. in listening to my heart and honoring myself i knew i needed to be helping people on their paths to wellness. i enrolled in massage therapy school and since the 2nd of may that's what i've been doing - going back to school to become a certified massage therapist. i'm so excited!!!!! it's a little crazy at the moment with my full time (+ overtime) job and school (+ clinicals), but life is good, my friends. it really, truly is! i'm trying to get my brain all spongy and awesome again to soak up all the anatomy we're learning and it's been amazing getting to massage people in our clinicals and classes. absolutely amazing. while we've got nuttyboo schedules and hecticness going on, it's all awesome and i can't complain. needless to say i've been behind in reading everyone's rock'n posts (i hope to catch up in the upcoming weeks. i cannot wait!) and we're not creating anything new in the kitchen right, but i wanted to stop in and share some tester recipes and other people's uber delicious eats with you guysers. i miss you all so much and i hope everything is awesome with you all, too!
